Follow the Money: Elon Musk's X and Owes
This Bedtime Stories edition reveals the money troubles of the world's richest man, who's lately on a crusade against the world's most prominent Jewish organization. And: Hunter Biden faces indictment
Good evening after another crazy busy super-hot day, Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2023. And with another scorcher on the way tomorrow, I’m going to keep this one brief so we can all get to bed!
On This Day:
1522: One of Ferdinand Magellan’s five ships, which sailed from Spain in 1519, returns, the first voyage to circumnavigate the Earth. He wasn’t so lucky.
1781: Traitor Benedict Arnold orders the torching of New London, Conn.
1915: The very first tank is produced in England. The name comes from the labels on the crates they were shipped in; To keep the armored vehicles a secret, soldiers were told the crates were being used to ship water to the troops, hence “tanks,” and the name stuck!
1972: More murders at the Munich Olympic Games
1995: Cal Ripken breaks Lou Gehrig’s record for most consecutive games played in Major League Baseball. The legendary and beloved former shortstop for the Baltimore Orioles still holds the record of 2,632, set in 1998.
