Thanks for rising up this Thursday, February 2, 2023. It’s Groundhog Day!
And unless you get stuck in an endless cycle of reliving the same day, over and over again, here’s a reminder that today is the last day of the week for RiseUP, until the next newsletter, the Bedtime Stories edition, Sunday night.

Hunter on Offense
HUNTER BIDEN DEMANDS RETRACTIONS, INVESTIGATIONS: Lawyers representing the president’s son demand state and federal investigations into the dissemination of his personal information — allegedly from his abandoned laptop. Hunter Biden is also threatening Tucker Carlson of Fox with a defamation lawsuit for allegedly failing to correct false statements.
WHERE HE’S STARTING: Biden’s lawyer sent letters to the Delaware attorney general, the Department of Justice, the IRS and attorneys for Fox News and Carlson. As CBS News reported, this represents an aggressive new strategy amid long-running federal criminal investigations, not to mention the threats by congressional Republicans to hold hearings.

Want to Ride Mario Kart? Better Skip the Sundae
UNDER 40-INCH WAISTLINES ONLY: Universal Hollywood is being criticized for banning riders from its new Mario Kart attraction whose waist measurements exceed 39-inches. Here’s what people are saying, according to Fox News:
"Nothing but wonderful things to say about Super Nintendo World except this: the body size limitations on the Mario Kart ride are absolutely ridiculous. I’ve never had any issue fitting into any ride in my entire life, and I can BARELY fit into this one. Completely absurd," tweeted influencer Rocco Botte.
"Can we discuss how at my biggest I would not have been able to fit on Mario Kart?” tweeted Anna. “A 40" waistline is about a size 20. Are you freaking kidding me UniStudios? It’s a DARK RIDE."
"Trust me when I say ‘lose a little weight’ is not a novel suggestion. Universal has a history now of releasing new rides (Harry Potter, Life of Pets, and now Mario Kart) where they don't accommodate big people yet they WILL take full admission price from us. Seems unethical,” wrote podcaster Matt Mazany.
"You can't have a mario kart ride that Bowser and DK wouldn't even be allowed on. Dumb," tweeted Zaha.
Thanks for rising up today. I’ll be back Sunday night with your Bedtime Stories. Until then, may your news be good news!
