RUDY GIULIANI ADMITS TO “DIRTY TRICK” DURING 1993 CAMPAIGN: The former New York City mayor confirmed what almost everyone in the five boroughs has known for decades, that his campaign used what he called a “dirty trick” to suppress the Hispanic vote during the 1993 mayoral race.
As the Guardian reported, this was revealed last week on his “America’s Mayor” program, where he was joined by indicted former Trump aide and far right conservative podcaster Steve Bannon and failed gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake of Arizona. Giuliani bragged that he spent $2M to set up a so-called Voter Integrity Committee, headed by Randy Levine, current president of the Yankees, and former Republican congressman John Sweeney.
“So they went through East Harlem, which is all Hispanic, and they gave out little cards, and the card said: ‘If you come to vote, make sure you have your green card because INS are picking up illegals.’” said Giuliani. FLA. LAWMAKERS PASS BILL ALLOWING DOCTORS TO DISCRIMINATE: The so-called “Protections of Medical Conscience” bill sent to Gov. Ron DeSantis will allow healthcare providers and insurers to deny a patient care on the basis of religious, moral or ethical beliefs.
LGBTQ+ and civil rights groups call it a license to discriminate that will allow healthcare providers and insurers the right to deny medical services to patients on the basis of moral, religious, and ethical beliefs.
Employers would be prohibited from punishing healthcare workers who cite a “conscience-based objection” in refusing to treat a patient. The law would be enforced by the state Attorney General, who could fine violators and seek injunctions to demand compliance. —Los Angeles Blade
