WHAT A WEEK THIS WILL BE: Brace yourself for what’s to come!

  • A grand jury in Manhattan reportedly will hear from at least one more witness in its investigation of former President Donald J. Trump for allegedly approving an illegal payment of hush money prior to the 2016 election to buy the silence of former adult film actress Stormy Daniels. She claims she had a sexual affair with Trump, who is also facing felony charges for recording that payment as “legal expenses.” —NBC News

  • Trump announced on social media he expects to be arrested Tuesday. His lawyer said that was a guess, not actual information. —USA Today

  • Trump also called for his supporters to protest his potential arrest.

  • NYPD, federal law enforcement and police nationwide are bracing for potential demonstrations as soon as tomorrow. WNBC-TV and Crisis24

  • Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg says in an internal email he won’t be intimidated. —Associated Press

  • Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R- Ga.) and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) broke with Trump in recommending against protests.

MTG EXPLAINS HERSELF: In an interview with The Daily Beast, the MAGA-congresswoman expressed worry about a repeat of the events of Jan. 6, which Rep. Greene claims was infiltrated by federal agents.

  • “There are a lot of concerns about protests because of people like Ray Epps and Scaffold Commander. There are a lot of reasons to believe there were feds or fed assets instigating the riot at the Capitol on January 6th.”

  • Greene also told The Daily Beast that she firmly believes Trump supporters have the right to peacefully protest while making clear her objection to Trump protests lie with “federal agents [who] infiltrate political movements and attempt to incite political violence.”

  • House Speaker Kevin McCarthy similarly called for Americans to refrain from protesting, telling reporters during a House GOP retreat, “I don’t think people should protest this, no.” McCarthy added: “And I think President Trump, if you talk to him, he doesn’t believe that either.” WTF??
