Here Now the News:
STILL NO MOTIVE IN NASHVILLE MASS MURDERS: Investigators are still trying to determine why a former student of a Christian school killed six people Monday. Here’s a brief rundown of what we know so far:
FOCUS ON THE VICTIMS: We know the names of all six but only have photos of five of the people gunned down at The Covenant School: CNN
VIGIL TONIGHT: The city is preparing to hold a candlelight vigil in downtown Nashville to honor the victims: Hallie Scruggs, 9, was the daughter of Chad Scruggs, the lead pastor at The Covenant Presbyterian Church, which is connected to the school, AP reported. Evelyn Dieckhaus, 9, was a third grader at the school. William Kinney, 9, was also a student at The Covenant School. Katherine Koonce, 60, was the head of the school. Mike Hill, 61, was a custodian. Cynthia Peak, 61, was a substitute teacher. As Axios reported they are among the 57 Americans killed in 38 U.S. mass shootings this month alone.
THE GUNMAN: Surveillance video released by Nashville Police Monday night provided our first look at the shooter, wearing a protective vest, camos, a red ballcap and armed with three automatic weapons.
WHO WAS HE? He was a Nashville resident, 28, who identified as transgender. His last name was Hale, but was identified by police as a woman whose name was Audrey and then misgendered as a transgender woman by both police and media. The shooter had recently started using he/him pronouns and some social media listed his first name as Aiden. Hale was being treated for an emotional disorder, police said on Tuesday.
THE WEAPONS: Hale had legally purchased seven firearms recently — including the three used in the shooting. Police bodycam video shows the moment he was killed by police minutes after they arrived at the scene.
THE SCHOOL: Police believe that the private Christian school and its church had been a target, not any single person. In documents found inside his home, which the police are reviewing, Hale had written about other targets, including a local mall and another school.
Conservatives: Transgender Americans are the problem, not guns

MTG RESTRICTED BY TWITTER FOR REPEATEDLY SHARING POSTER: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s congressional Twitter account was restricted yesterday after the Georgia Republican shared an image about a “Trans Day of Vengeance.” Greene said the graphic was promoting an “Antifa” event on Saturday in Washington, D.C. —The Daily Beast
After Twitter removed the post, the company’s head of trust and safety, Ella Irwin, explained that Twitter had to automatically remove more than 5,000 tweets and retweets of the poster. “We do not support tweets that incite violence irrespective of who posts them,” Irwin said. “‘Vengeance’ does not imply peaceful protest. Organizing or support for peaceful protests is ok.” Irwin also wrote that Twitter “did not take a ‘strike’ approach with restricting” the tweets sharing the poster, instead only restricting the media being shared. “There is no impact to users for having tweeted it unless it is reposted after removal or was posted with additional calls for violence/ wishes of harm,” Irwin added.
